Have you seen many condo owners advertising their condo like hotels? Well I will tell you a true story which will make you think twice before  renting these condos. I suggest staying at real hotels when you go to Manila.

Do not rent a room at Sea Residences cared of by Flor Monteroso specifically Tower F Sea Residences. I had the worst experience there.

I needed a place to stay in Pasay, Manila for a day and decided that I need a place for three people because I will travel with my sister and father. So, I booked a condo at Booking.com. Then a day later the caretaker of the condo told me that someone already booked the room before me  but it was not removed from the booking.com. She said that she will transfer me to a new room under Ms. Flor. I called Ms. Flor and asked her about the room if three people will fit. She said yes so I trusted her – A big mistake. I called her – since she never calls or texts me- and asked for the address of the condo. She just said that I will call her when we arrive. I called again to ask for the facilities, she said everything is complete complete including the toiletries.

When we arrived at Manila after a 6 hour drive from Baguio City, I called her and she said that I should wait at the Tower F lobby (the first time she said after I called her several times since 4 days ago). We went to Tower F Room 1022, and the place is great but I think Flor is just a lousy person. Why?

I told her many days ahead that there are three of us. When we arrived, there are only 2 towels, and one baby sized blanket, 2 toothbrush, 2 baby round soaps, 1 toothpaste sachet. No shampoo and No toilet paper in the Comfort Room. The TV is not working, shower is not working. She did not tell me the wifi password and when I texted her for it, she never replied. I am so upset because I booked a condo so that my father will feel comfortable, but he ended up sleeping in a couch with no blanket. That is no way to treat a retired Lieutenant of the PNP. I texted Flor but she never replied.

She asked for a P1000 deposit which she will give once we check out. I told her before that we will check out at 9 am. I told her when we arrived that we will check out at 9 am. 

That next day, I called her at 9 am telling her that we are leaving. Guess what she said that I will just have to leave the keys at the table. I asked about the deposit and then she paused and she said that she is on her way. We waited until 10 am at the lobby but she never came. We talked to the security guard and the guard tried to call her but she cannot be reached. I am in a rush because I need to attend the event at 11 am. I then went to the event with the keys of the condo. I texted her that if she will not return the deposit after my event, I will file a complaint against her. Sure, P1000 is not a big amount but i cannot tolerate people who takes advantage of others for money. Imagine if I need to catch a flight at 10 am and she failed to appear, then I will not be able to get my deposit. Just imagine how many people did she scam before me and after me. I do not want to let it slide. We returned at 6 pm and saw her in the lobby, guess what she was angry saying that she was hurt by my text message. She was screaming by the lobby saying that she was just late because she needed to commute – I told her beforehand about my check out, she needs to be there by then. I don’t care, she deserves the text message. I got my P1000 back and left her and then traveled back to Baguio.

How I almost got scammed at Sea Residences Condo:

1. They collected a deposit amount.
2. I told them before hand that I will check out early at 9 am.
3. They failed to appear until 10 am prompting me to leave and catch my flight/ event and say goodbye to my deposit money.

Reasons why you should not rent at Sea Residences:

1. The owners of the Condo will not call you directly but you will discuss with the caretaker.
2. The condo owner and the security guards do not care about you and will not assist you.
3. The caretakers that condo owner hired are lousy and untrained unlike in hotels.
4. They will find ways so that you cannot recover your deposit money.

Reasons why you should not transact with Flor M. and rent at Tower F room 1022 Sea Residences:

She scams people of their deposit money, does not reply to your texts, lousy host, and useless. I’ve been nothing but nice to her until she tried to scam me. She is not the only one, I am sure that it is part of the modus operandi of all condo “caretakers” to leech out money from tourists who trusted them.

Lesson for the Day:

Book a HOTEL never a condo if you are traveling to Manila, Philippines. No matter how beautiful the condo looked, you will still be better of with a hotel or an inn. Why? staff of hotels are trained and helpful, condo caretakers are untrained and useless and will never assist you when you need them.
